In der zweiten Osterferienwoche nahmen die Mädels der Spielgemeinschaft der 3 Freisinger Vereine, Sportclub, Eichenfeld und Vötting als Freising United am internationalen U18 Turnier von „Komm mit international“ in Medulin bei Pula, Kroatien mit großem Erfolg teil. Neben einem tollen Rahmenprogramm mit Eröffnungsfeier im Amphitheater Pula, abendlichen Fackellauf mit Lagerfeuer am Strand und gutem Hotel hatte man bei mediteranen Klima mit bis zu 25°C auf einer top Sportanlage mit 2 Kunstrasenspielfeldern und 3 Rasenplätzen ideale Bedingungen. Die Teilnahme möglich gemacht hatten insbesondere das ehrenamtliche Betreuer- und Trainerteam, was keine Kosten und Mühen gescheut hatte um den Mädels ein unvergessliches Erlebnis zu bescheren. Hierzu gilt auch der Sparkasse Freising- Moosburg und dem REWE- Markt an der Prinz-Ludwig-Str. ein herzlicher Dank für ihre tatkräftige Unterstützung!
Neben dem U18 Turnier fanden auch U15 und U13 Turniere ausschließlich für Juniorinnen statt. Unter anderem nahmen neben Amateurvereinen so klangvolle Namen wie Bayer 04 Leverkusen mit 3 NLZ- Teams, der Ruhrpott- Kultverein Rot-Weiß Oberhausen mit mehreren Teams und ZNK Gazon an den Turnieren teil.
Die Freisinger Mädels traten in den Gruppenspielen gegen SC Klinge Seckach (B-Juniorinnen EnBW Oberliga), SV GW Welldorf- Güsten (B Juniorinnen Bezirksliga) und die mit einer großen Fanbase angereisten und für super Stimmung sorgenden Rot-Weiß Oberhausen (B Juniorinnen Kreisklasse) an.
Zum Auftakt ging es gleich gegen den Gruppenfavoriten Klinge Seckach. Nach aufopfernden 2x 20 Minuten sahen die Zuschauer ein achtbares 0:4 gegen einen Oberligisten. Im zweiten Gruppenspiel trafen die Mädels auf Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, die man über die komplette Spielzeit beherrschte und zahlreiche Torchancen in der ersten Halbzeit ungenutzt ließ. In Halbzeit zwei kam endlich der erlösende Treffer durch die erst 13jährige Ogechi Ekekwe (23. Spielminute) als sie aus der eigenen Spielhälfte startend, einen Steilpass gegen die hochstehenden Oberhauser Verteidiger erlief und eiskalt gegen die Laufrichtung der herauseildenden Torhüterin im langen Eck versenkte. Durch die engagierte Leistung im ersten Spiel und dem Sieg im zweiten Spiel hatten die Freisinger Mädels nun im letzten Gruppenspiel den Einzug ins Halbfinale in der eigenen Hand. Ein Unentschieden gegen SV GW Welldorf-Güsten reichte auf Grund der besseren Tordifferenz.
Nach 2 schnellen Toren für Freising United durch Josefine Gangkofer (8. Minute) mit einem sehenswerten Freistoß und dem 2:0 durch eine glänzend aufgelegte Shang Shi (15. Spielminute) kamen die Gegnerinnen in Halbzeit 2 zwar noch zum Ausgleich (24. und 30. Spielminute) aber FS Utd Goalie Vivienne Greiner hielt mit einigen sehenswerten Paraden den Punkt, der das Halbfinale bedeutete, fest. Nach dem Schlusspfiff kannte die Freude keine Grenzen.
Im Halbfinale wartete mit ZNK Gazon der spätere verdiente Turniersieger, welchen man sich mit 0:3 geschlagen geben musste. ZNK Gazon ist ein ambitionierter slowenischer Verein, in dem die Damen in der ersten slowenischen Liga spielen. Trainiert werden die Mädels von einem ehemaligen slowenischen Zweitligaspieler. Im Spiel um Platz 3 traf man abermals auf den Oberligisten SC Klinge Seckach. Nach einem anstrengenden Turnierverlauf mussten sich die Mädels hier mit einem 0:3 geschlagen geben. Insgesamt war es ein stark besetztes Turnier mit einem tollen Achtungserfolg mit dem 4.Platz. Das Trainerteam hat mit einem passorientierten Spielsystem und einer Altersstruktur von 13 bis 17jährigen Spielerinnen im U18 Juniorinnenturnier mit den Mädels einen super Erfolg! Für das nächste Jahr ist eine erneute Teilnahme fest eingeplant.
